I have recently completed my MBBS from Govt medical college, Today , I will tell u about how to crack present medical entrance test without coaching.
All of us have thought of becoming a successful person in life . All have their different desires and principles to live this wonderful life in their own way. Likewise after completing matric (x class) everyone have to choose their way .some of them choose engineering, some commerce, some arts , while others medical sciences. But being a doctor is not an easy thing, though other fields also have their own importance.
Now lets go to the point ;
First of all you need to believe that cracking this exam without coaching is absolutely possible.I myself didn't got any kind of coaching for me and still cracked it. I have seen many students being coached for years and still they don't even qualify this test. I am not talking about everybody like some students after coached from good institutes come up with flying colours.even top 100 rankers have been coached. Coaching has its own value .But why not everyone being coached cracks this auspicious exam : reason is that there is something wrong. Either the students who failed were non- serious or it was too much burden on them. Now I will tell what kind of burden I m talking about:-
I have seen the books of various coaching institutes and gone through their notes and found that they were teaching something excessive than what is genuinely required.eg. in biology only NCERT is more than sufficient to get an ample of good marks but I saw something more than the ncert syllabus in various institute' s books which is just putting an extra burden on the heads of young students. Not only biology I have seen the same in physics and chemistry too.though excellent students will somehow cope with this but students like me( I was a good student though not excellent) find it difficult .
Im not discouraging you from coaching. If you have resources you must go for coaching but for those those who don't have enough money or themselves don't want being coached here's the wayout
STEPS:
1. Cut off from everybody after you have decided to crack it. Especially mobile phones (just throw them away till you succeed your life)
Mobile phones with internet are such a heck to your life.they waste your time like hell.
Not only mobiles but also your friends .just say hi hello that's all.stop peeping Facebook YouTube whatsapp aimlessly just switch off your mobiles.stop spending your valuable time just for fun. I suggest you to do this after you enter your 11 the class with medical stream.
2. Make a time table and stick to it. I would rather suggest you to sleep up early @ 12 pm and wake up early at 5 am .after waking give a rapid bath and get ready by 5: 30 am , hurriedly REVISE whatever you have learnt yesterday's night.this is what an intelligent person does .REMEMBER you have to revise last night' s work and NOT to read anything new. And 11-12 pm at night spend for revising whole day's work. This has to be revised next day.
3.Your school should be a good one. As you are compromising with coaching you must study your 11 and 12th std. in a school which provides very good tuition to their students. I myself studied in a school which provided very good care in my studies such that I never got additional tuition. Always Consult your seniors who have already doing their 11 and 12 from same school. I have seen some schools where after 10th no students come all have their dummy admission and go for coaching. CAUTION: if your school does not teach anything then you may need simple tuition,
If your school does not teach anything and you can't afford tuition then you just need help books like modern ABC or pradeep only for physics and chemistry ( you may take second hand books - doesn't matter).don't buy for biology. For biology u just need NCERT.
In help books also lot of additional information is given .just practice derivations and 1-2 examples for each topic not more than that. It will cover your boards as well.
For all passed out you just need to practice 10 yr questions from 10 yr books with solutions available in market.always revise summary and formulae before attempting for all subjects.
For biology: Ncert should be read 10 - 15 times +
Additional book: NCERT AT FINGERTIPS BIOLOGY for mcq practice + most important is peeping out for previous yr . question and see from where is the question appearing( from which topic)
