What is the best way to get rid of distractions like your phone while studying?
Gone are the days of old Nokia type phones during the time when I used to prepare for neet and also qualified it.(of course now I am a doctor).
I really miss those wonderful days.Anyways, now is the era of smartphones, which urges and forces your deepest desires to check out WhatsApp , Instagram now and then, it is very difficult to control oneself from such distraction.
But here's something which I did while studying for my MBBS exams and maybe helpful to u as well :-
1.First of all I would say it is not completely possible to exclude phone usage completely.but 70 ℅ usage can be curtailed easily. (If u exclude completely, u will loose motivation in studies also, so dont do it)
2. Switch off your phone and keep phone out of your study room (out means out) , but give it a fixed time with alarm of 15- 30 minutes max.( Example after meals, check out Instagram etc.).After that again switch it off and keep it in some room other than study room
.3. Keep something like dumbbells in your studyroom to do light workout (for 15 min.)after every 2 hrs. Believe me it will really boost up your concentration and divert from phone usage.
4. At last I would say u have to use your phone only 3 times a day (after lunch for 15 -30 minutes), at evening snacks break and after dinner.(Never ever use phone after waking up, as it would divert your precious fresh energy into useless exhaustion) and your day would be ruined.
Only use if it is very important.Rest of the time it has to switched off in other room.Hope it works.
We humans have amazing ability to concentrate for short periods of time, so let's use it.
Here is a pomodoro technique in which a person stays focused only for short time eg. 25 min. and 5 min break in reward.( But u need to find your optimal focused time eg. 15min, or 25 min or maybe 50 min ) but 25 min is the most common.
